GIEBC - iii | Opening Ceremony

In our country there are so many girls and women who dreamed of building their own business empire but it is a matter of sorrow that they do not get any kind of help in planning or funding.  To help those women, BdOSN organised Girls Innovation Boot Camp. BdOSN always tries to present some real role models in front of the participants so that they can get inspired from them and can learn some strategy from them. On 24th June 2021, in the opening ceremony of vGIEBC as a guest, Sonia Bashir Kabir, Founder, SBK Tech Ventures & SBK Foundation; Nasima Akter Nisha, President, Women and e-Commerce forum (WE); Sinthia Sharmin Islam, CCO & Co-Founder, Shajgoj ltd; Shawkat Hossain, Managing Director, BD Venture and some others guests ware present during this opening ceremony. The event was hosted by Jahanara Amir, Project manager of Bangladesh Open Source Network and President of ESDG4BD Project and Munir Hasan, General Secretary of Bangladesh Open Source Network and President of ESDG4BD Project.

Volunteer Experience: The Exceptional Journey with BdOSN

বিডিওএসএনের সাথে জার্নির শুরুটা ২০২০ এর নভেম্বরের শুরুতে। প্রথমে চেয়েছিলাম তাদের কিছু প্রোগ্রাম আমাদের ক্যাম্পাসে নিয়ে আসবো। কিন্তু তখন ক্যাম্পাস বন্ধ থাকায় এই পরিকল্পনার বাস্তবায়ন করা হয়নি।

তবে এই পরিচিত হওয়ার সুবাদে অংশ নিয়েছিলাম GIBC-2 তে, তিনদিনের আবাসিক ক্যাম্পের চমৎকার এক্সপেরিয়েন্স এর কারণে খুবই আগ্রহী হয়েছিলাম বিডিওএসএনের ভলান্টিয়ার হিসাবে কাজ করতে।

নারীর উদ্যোক্তা হওয়ার পথ সহজ করতে যেসব সমস্যার মুখে পরতে হয়, সেসব সমাধানে নানা বিষয়ের প্রশিক্ষণ, নেটওয়ার্কিং বা সচেতনতার মধ্য দিয়ে শেষ হলো ‘লার্ন, চেঞ্জ, ফ্লারিশ’ শীর্ষক অনলাইন বুট ক্যাম্প।

GIEBC | Trade Licence and Legal Documents- 2021

On the occasion of Girls Innovation & Entrepreneurs Boot Camp- III, Bangladesh Open Source Network organized a session on ‘Trade Licence and Legal Documents’ with a motive to make the participants understand the professionalism required to start, run and maintain a business. The full potential of whatsapp is not utilized fully in Bangladesh. Due to covid has made us active online and made us used to sharing large amounts of money. & banks already shifted their services on whatsapp. And many other formal tools are being shared which are based on whatsapp. Whatsapp can be called a professional tool.

Nowadays, various events supporting innovations are being organized worldwide based on information technology and some of which are changing the world. Due to the Covid-19 situation, these innovations are becoming more and more technology dependent. 

The Science Museum will display robots made by teenage scientists at the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad

The National Museum of Science and Technology is going to show the robot. These robots made by the teenage scientists of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad will be displayed in the Innovation Gallery of the Science Museum. Teenage robot scientists handed over their invented robots to the Director General of the museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury at a "Robot Transfer and Science Ceremony" at the National Museum of Science and Technology on May 25.

Grace Hopper Girls Programming Class

From the very beginning of the pandemic, Bangladesh Open Source Network tried to serve the students virtually under its three-year ESDG4BD Project. According to that, to teach programming they organize online programming camps for girls frequently for both beginners and advanced learners. This month they have also organised an online Grace Hopper Girls Programming Camp for beginners to encourage the young female students toward programming. 

World Robot Olympiad

World Robot Olympiad, organizes robotics competitions in various categories with the aim of enhancing the creativity and problem solving skills of children and teenagers. This competition has been organized every year since 2004. Each season, the competition is organized based on a new theme and the participants compete in different categories based on age. Regular, Open, WR Football and Advanced are the four categories of competition. The age categories for participating in this Olympiad are 8-12, 12-15 and 15-19 years respectively. Age starts from 14 years to till 19years students can participate in the Future Engineers category.
