In the competitive global job market, a young person do not have enough time to set a career goal after completing their graduation. In order to assess potential career options and to discover which career will align with them according to their interests and skills, definitely they need to think about it from their early stage of study. They need to face some practical experiences with extracurricular activities, part time duties, and internships and so on. From this concept, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) organize a hands on job preparation workshop on 26th November 2020.
This was a one and half hour workshop for undergrad female students conducted by Parvin S. Huda, HRD & OD Consultant Bangladesh. A total 20 female students from different universities and colleges took part in this workshop.
This workshop offered a clear concept about why we need to set a career plan from early stage and also the way of approaching any job opening. Through this workshop an intensive nurturing about the pros and cons of job preparation including preparing CV and cover letters, facing interviews, writing formal emails etcetera has been provided. This workshop also provides a clear concept about why a job seeker need to have self-assessment before applying for any job and how they can organize themselves. This was an interactive discussion between the resource person and the participants as a Q/A session was held in the workshop.
It is mentioned that, this workshop is jointly organised by BdOSN and it's three year ESDG4BD Project supported by Manusher Jonno Foundation.
