In current technological oriented economy, it is mandatory to have proficiency in Microsoft Office. Employees with strong computer skills fare better the job markets better than their counterparts. Computer skills is now considered as the prerequisite of entering the job market. New job seekers need to focus on this skill for formulating professional development plan for future career growth. From this concept, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) and ESDG4BD organized a 2 hour long ICT camp on MS Office Application Packages.
In the competitive world of employment there has no alternatives of being skilled on multi-tasking job. This make it more vital to present oneself in a smart way. For approaching any job, a complete resume is required of a job seeker so that recruiter get to know whether this candidate is eligible for that specific position or not. So an accurate and appropriate resume can help to get hired faster. Thinking this, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) and ESDG4BD project jointly organize a workshop on effective resume writing workshop for girls to increase their participation in job market.
“Youth Engagement for Global Action” is the concept of International Youth Day 2020. The essence of this year's theme is to involve the youth in various local, national and international organizations so that they can become more efficient. With this in mind, Bangladesh Open Source Network organized various activities for three days from 12th-14th August, 2020. Enabling the engagement of youth in such formal political mechanisms does raise the fairness of political tasks by turning down democratic deficits, contributes to better and more sustainable policies, and also has symbolic importance that can further contribute to restoring trust in public institutions, especially among youth.

With the rapid growth of smartphones, gadget development, and the increasing reach of tech in everyday life, web development is one of the most attractive fields in the tech industry. And being a developer is one of the coolest and most beneficial jobs in today’s world. Since female students can play an important role in the country's economy, it is important to make them skilled in the area of programming, web development, problem-solving etcetera similarly as boys. Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) mainly organize the workshop named ‘WordPress Essential’ to encourage the girls from ICT non-ICT sector to involve more in ICT related working field specially in web developing sector.
২০১৭ সালে বাংলাদেশ ওপেন সোর্স নেটওয়ার্কের (বিডিওএসএন) উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত প্রথম পাইলট গার্লস ইনোভেশন বুটক্যাম্প থেকে উদ্যোক্তা হবার পথে পা বাড়ানোর সাহস পায় উম্মে হানি এশা। এরপর থেকেই স্বল্প পরিসরে শুরু হয় তার অনলাইন ব্যবসার টুকিটাকি। গার্লস ইনোভেশন বুটক্যাম্প থেকে প্রাথমিক ধারণা নিয়ে চলতে থাকে তার একার উদ্যোগ। কিন্তু বেশীদিন একা হাল ধরতে হয়নি তাকে। সাথে সহযোদ্ধা হিসেবে পাশে পান নিজের শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের দুইজন সহপাঠীকে। এরপর পুরোদমে চলতে থাকে তিনজনের এখানেইকিনি ডট কম-এর কার্যক্রম। এ বছর বিডিওএসএন এর চাকরি খুঁজব না চাকরি দেবো গ্রুপের ই-উদ্যোক্তা হাটে অংশ নিয়েছেন তারা।
নিজের ব্যবসায়িক উদ্যোগ কে সাথে নিয়ে যখন পথ চলা শুরু হয় তখনো উদ্যোক্তা শব্দের মানে জানতেননা মাকসুদা খাতুন। নিজের প্রয়োজনে চাকরি ছেড়ে ব্যবসা শুরু করেন। একদম শূন্য শুরু করে অনেক চড়াই উতরাই পেরিয়ে আজ অনেকের কাছে একটি পরিচিত মুখ মাকসুদা খাতুন। ২০১৬ সালে চামড়াজাত পণ্য নিয়ে যে উদ্যোগ তিনি শুরু করেন, ধীরে ধীরে তা এখন সাফল্যের মুখ দেখছে। মোট ৩৫ জন কর্মীর সাহায্যে নিজেদের তৈরী চামড়াজাত পণ্য পৌঁছে দিচ্ছেন দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্তে। বাংলাদেশ ওপেন সোর্স নেটওয়ার্কের একটি প্ল্যাটফর্ম ‘চাকরি খুঁজব না চাকরি দেবো’ এর উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত ই-উদ্যোক্তা হাট ২০২০ এ অংশগ্রহণকারী এই নারী শোনান উদ্যোক্তা হিসেবে তার পরিচিতি পাওয়ার গল্প।
An online e-Uddokta Haat kicks off from 17 July 2020 under the initiative of “Chakri Khujbo na Chakri Debo”, a platform of Bangladesh Open Source Network to inspire young people in self-employment. It will continue till July 30. The initiative is to stand by the side of entrepreneurs who have been affected severely by COVID-19 by presenting the products and services of young entrepreneurs to online buyers. http://uddoktahaat.com web address has a total of 32 organizations.
From the very beginning, my interests, motivation, and goals were highly dedicated to the development of my community, finding innovative and effective ways to solve problems and implementing them accordingly. Born and raised in the north-western rural part of Bangladesh which is still not fully electrified, my childhood dreams and struggles have driven me to gather all aspirations for who I am today and explore all of my strengths which eventually help me to win over my infirmities. While studying computer science I was fascinated to know about its sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Machine Learning. Thus, my devotion to solving problems and love for science has driven me to pursue my further studies and research in computer science.
