In few decades, programming language is getting popular among tech enthusiast people. With time, coding is becoming more developed with latest programming language. To build a skilled youth community on coding, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) and City University organized a weeklong programming camp and programming contest from 28th December to 3rd December 2020.
This camp was associated with Computer Science and engineering Department and City University Programming Club (CUPC). This week long camp was only for the students of City University. A total 95 students from different semester of CSE department took part in this event. In first three days of the camp, participants got the opportunities to boost their coding skill by learning from basic to advance programming through the entire camp. This camp help them to embrace their expertise in problem solving with programming. Main objective of this camp was to provide them a clear concept about the implementation of programming language in practical problem solving, to help them understand the programming algorithms related to real life examples and to help them to practice hand on task.
On 3rd December, an intra-City University programming contest was held among the students of different semester of CSE department. All the participants of the camp took part in this contest via online judge. The aim of this contest was to help them understand the proper way of time utilization in programming contest and introduce them with online judge. After the contest, program arrangement committee announce the name of the winner of the contest.
At the last day of the week long program, a career talk was held with the same audience. This career talk was graced by General Secretary of BdOSN, Munir Hasan. He deliver his speech towards the participants and motivate them in setting a career plan from their early stage by describing the current condition of global job market and what will be the future scenario. He suggested them to prepare themselves from now and ornamented themselves with latest tech skills according to their career goal.
