In current technological oriented economy, it is mandatory to have proficiency in Microsoft Office. Employees with strong computer skills fare better the job markets better than their counterparts. Computer skills is now considered as the prerequisite of entering the job market. New job seekers need to focus on this skill for formulating professional development plan for future career growth. From this concept, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) and ESDG4BD organized a 2 hour long ICT camp on MS Office Application Packages.
This workshop was held on 14th August 2020 with 51 female participants from all over the country. This overall camp content covers the basic use of Microsoft application and a good understanding of the software which is essential for any office-based career.
This camp was conducted by the strategic planner and soft skill specialist Md. Masud. He also works in Prothom alo as static analyst. The overall content of this camp include- basic use of MS packages, way of preparing a power point presentation, easier method of calculating and sorting big size data with MS Excel etc.
The main goal of this camp was to make our female graduates’ expert and skilled in MS applications. This will help them to become eligible for entering any office environment with necessary computer skills.
It is mentioned that the Bangladesh Open Source Network organizes these camps under the project "Enabling Sustainable Development Goals for Bangladesh-SD1GBD" to encourage women in information technology and increase women's participation in the information technology workplace. Manuser Jonno Foundation is monitoring the project overall. Under the three-year project, BdOSN will organize similar camps in different places in the country
