In our country there are so many girls and women who dreamed of building their own business empire but it is a matter of sorrow that they do not get any kind of help in planning or funding. To help those women, BdOSN organised Girls Innovation Boot Camp. BdOSN always tries to present some real role models in front of the participants so that they can get inspired from them and can learn some strategy from them. On 24th June 2021, in the opening ceremony of vGIEBC as a guest, Sonia Bashir Kabir, Founder, SBK Tech Ventures & SBK Foundation; Nasima Akter Nisha, President, Women and e-Commerce forum (WE); Sinthia Sharmin Islam, CCO & Co-Founder, Shajgoj ltd; Shawkat Hossain, Managing Director, BD Venture and some others guests ware present during this opening ceremony. The event was hosted by Jahanara Amir, Project manager of Bangladesh Open Source Network and President of ESDG4BD Project and Munir Hasan, General Secretary of Bangladesh Open Source Network and President of ESDG4BD Project.
To generate children's interest on coding and programming, BdOSN jointly with ISOC is celebratiing CSE Week from December 1. 2017 to January 31st, 2018. This time, the Hour Of Code, one of the programs of the celebration is arranged in Dinajpur. 50 schildren from Birgonj Paradox Kindergarten attended the session.
The kids were very much enthusiatic about the event. The teachers also requested to arrange such programming session at the school.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is so wide that anything we to is related to it. Even though ICT is most important part nowadays people are working less in it. The worst part comes when we talk about women in Information and Communication technology. There's is a limited number of working sectors in ICT. Women are another half of a nation. So they need to work in ICT with men. Then the nation can be a digitalized country. Bangladesh Open Source Network organizes a segment called #missingdaugheter. #missingdaughter 's main motive is to make girls interested in ICT and computer programming. There are two programs under #missingdaughter.
1. Grace Hopper Girls Programming Camp.
2. Ada Lovelace Girls Programming Camp.
Bangladesh Open Souce Network is working on bringing the girls in ICT and computer programming so that the country can overcome in ICT.
Chakri Khujbo Na Chakri Debo is an entrepreneur helping platform. Those who want to be an entrepreneur can grab all the information before starting a business. They also can have information after starting the business. Basically, from this platform, anyone will have help becoming an entrepreneur. We also organize boishakhi uddokta hat every year. We also have a facebook group ( চাকরি খুঁজব না চাকরি দেব). We have a big community in the facebook for answering any question related to entrepreneurship. Anyone can join the group and ask any question and also any kind of help.
Chakri Cai is a platform for those who are looking for jobs. It's a facebook group(চাকরি চাই) where the community members post job-related information like job secular, job information, job relation events etc. it's an open group for all. anyone can join and grab all the information shared in the group
Bangladesh Open Source Network took a new Initiative idea to make high school and college girls interested in computer programming and information and communication technology (ICT). Ada Lovelace Girls Programming Camp is a 2 day-long event for high school and college girls. Bangladesh Open Source Network is organizing Ada Lovelace girls programming camp continuously from 2016. This is a programming camping where student are taught basics of general knowledge about ICT, C programming and C++ programming language.
Basically, This Program is to motive high school girls to be a programmer and make them more interesting in ICT sector. They are prepared to participate in NHSPC and NGPC.
ICT is a career sector where anyone can do their work anytime. It doesn't require a specific timetable like other career sectors. That's why ICT is the perfect career sector for women. They can manage their family as well as work if they choose ICT as their career because not every ICT job is required to go to the office every working day.
Bangladesh Open Source Network is tremendously working for girls to make interest in ICT. If girls understand all the facilities of working on ICT they will have a choice in it. We are managing so many camps, boot camps, workshops for girls. Grace hopper Girls Programming Camp is one of the programs BdOSN organizes for girls. Basically, This is a program for College and university first-year and second-year students. Grace Hopper Girls Programming Camp is a 3-day long camp and it's being organized all over the Bangladesh from 2016.
Theoretical study and practical work have so many difference. Students learn theoretically in their educational institute. but what about the practical? There are many institutes teach hands-on computer programming but these courses are payable. That's the main reason behind the workshop Bangladesh Open Source Network(BdOSN) organizes. We organize workshop on Dig Data, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Programming etc.
BdOSN career talk is a one-day open seminar for everyone. We started it on 2016. There was 4 BdOSN career talk last year 2016. All the speakers talk on the seminar are those who work on ICT. They share their experience on ICT career. All the participants ask questions to the speaker and they answer all the questions. Participants of the seminar get a clear concept about ICT career.
