Bangladesh Open Source Network has organized Hands on Job Preparation Workshop and Networking Activity at Shamsun Nahar Hall of University of Dhaka on September 8, 2022. This event was assembled under the ESDG4Bd project of BdOSN. A total number of 41 students participated in this event. A variety of students from different departments, mostly from second and third year, were present at the event.

The event started with the Hands on Job Preparation Workshop. Senior HR Business Parner at Grameenphone Limited, Farah Tanjeem conducted the workshop. She discussed the basic elements for getting prepared for the future job sectors. She also highlighted the significance of networking to keep a pulse on the job market. Moreover, she discussed the STAR model to answer interview questions more structured and concisely.

In the following session Achia Khaleda Nila, Founder and CEO of Women in Digital and Nishat Mushfiqua, Raindrops Limited joined us. The session was titled Networking Activity “Meet the Recruiters”. Achia Nila moderated the session. She started the session with the inspiring story of her interview experience. Then Achia Khaleda Nila asked various career-oriented questions to the other speakers. From answers to those questions, the audience got many insights regarding the dilemma of career choice.

After 2 and half hours, the session came to an end. There was an overwhelming response from the participants’ side. We hope this event will bring a positive impact on the pathway to their future career life.
