A comprehensive science-focused project exhibition (STEM Fest) was organized on January 29 at Naihati Secondary Girls' School Rupsha, Khulna. This event included a full day of activities such as a scratch programming contest, a robotics competition, poster presentations, and various quizzes. These initiatives aimed to enhance digital literacy, knowledge, and essential skills, particularly among female students, culminating in a display inspection.
To foster a technology-driven Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Freedom Foundation has offered skill development training in programming, robotics, science, and mathematics to female students at Naihati Secondary Girls' School and Comrade Ratan Sen Collegiate School in Rupsha Upazila. This initiative is part of the project named STEM & ICT Skills for the Girls of Coastal Area (SISGCA). Six other schools from Rupsha Upazila took part in this festival. These include Kazdia Government Higher Secondary School, Kazdia Secondary Girls' School, Belfulia Islamia High School, Pitha Bhog DGC High School, Naihati Girls' School, and Comrade Ratan Sen Collegiate Girls' School. Awards were presented to the participating students. 18 science-based projects and 30 poster presentations, along with programming contests, quiz competitions, and robotics competitions, showcased their skills in various activities.
The Fest, chaired by Project Lead Shakhira Afroz Deepa and guided by Mahmud Hasan Shovan, featured notable guest speakers Upazila Executive Officer and Administrator Upazila Parishad Rupsha Akash Kumar Kundu, the acting principal of Comred Ratan Sen Collegate Girls' School Laxman Kumar Saha, Sukhen Roy, Executive Director of BDOM Nasir Khan Saikat, and Assistant Principal of Naihati Girls' School Sandhib Sarkar, among others.
