From the very beginning of the pandemic, Bangladesh Open Source Network tried to serve the students virtually under its three-year ESDG4BD Project. According to that, to teach programming they organize online programming camps for girls frequently for both beginners and advanced learners. This month they have also organised an online Grace Hopper Girls Programming Camp for beginners to encourage the young female students toward programming.
The camp for Beginners was conducted on 26th to 28th May, 2021. The program was conducted to clear the primary level of the learning process related to programming. It mainly focused on the core basics of programming. The aim of this camp was to attract the beginners students familiar with programming and to clear the basic concepts of programming. The camp consisted of several basic topics including data type, input and output, conditional logic, loop, function, string, basic algorithm, online judge, problem solving etc. A total number of 20 female students participated in this camp.
The camp provided session long support for the participants where the participants can openly post or email their questions to the mentors. The session was conducted on Zoom online meeting platform. To make better preparation for the next day’s class, the recordings of each day’s class were provided to the participants.
