Grace Hopper Girls Programming Training Camp Held in Tangail


The 3-days long Grace Hopper Girls Programming Training Camp in Tangail was successfully curtained on the last 24th
December at the Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University. A total number of 42 students from school, college and university actively participated in the event. Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) has been organizing such programming camps throughout Bangladesh.


The CSE department of the university led the camp. Dr. Motiur Rahma, the chairperson of the department inaugurated the camp on the 22nd
December. The participants enthusiastically took part in the discussion and the hands on activities led by the trainers. Along with the programming, some other important points were discussed in the event. Dynamic programming, essential mathematics for programming and the challenges to participate in the national programming training competition were highlighted in the event. Two faculties from the department named Delwar Hossain and Mohammed Ashraful Islam led the camp. Mr. Nahidul Islam from Jahangirnagar University supported throughout the program.


It is worthwhile to mention that, the Grace Hopper Girls Programming Camp is an initiative of #missingdaughter that aims to create a platform for the girls in Bangladesh in programming and ICT. The next camp was arranged at the University of Noakhali Science and Technology on the last  27th
December to 29th 2016.
