Girls Programming Workshop held

Workshop on "Introduction to algorithms and how to apply them in computer programming" held successfully in the Charle Babage lab of Daffodil International University (DIU) on 5-6 June 2015. BdOSN in collaboration with Code it, Girl organized the workshop for the girls. DIU hosted the workshop. 18 female students from Dhaka University, BUET, North South University, Jahangirnagar University, National University etc joined the workshop. Bristy Sikder, a student of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) conducted the workshop while Mirfat Sharmin and All Rabbi of BdOSN facilitated the same. The workshop covered the basic algorithm required for computer programming. Students learned the basics and application of Ad-Hoc Problems, greedy algorithms, Divide and Conquer: Merge Sort, Graphs, BFS, DFS, Jug Problem, etc. 

 

The participating students expressed their satisfaction and requested the organizers to arrange more programming workshop in future. In the closing ceremony, Prof Dr Akhter Hossain handed over the certificate to the successful participants.

Similar workshop will be organized in different cities in near future, the organizers added at the end.
