GIEBC | How to Work with Business Model Canvas – 2021

Bangladesh Open Source Network- BdSON organized a session named ‘How to work with Business Model Canvas’ to celebrate the Online Girls Innovation and Entrepreneurship Boot Camp.

 

The session was hosted and conducted by Achia Nila, Founder of Women in digital. She started her presentation with a quote

She talked about the business model and said that buying and selling a small amount of products online every month and staying in the same phase for a long time is not the actual way of doing business. It needs planning and the proper planning can be called a business model. Achia Nila said, to start a business one should follow each step but first one has to prepare a priority list and start one by one. Ms. Achia Nila described every segments of business model with precise description- 

Value Proposition: how to digitize the traditional business model. How to stand out from the rest of the competitors.

Customer segment: We must think thoroughly about why the customer should buy your product or service. The services/ product should be designed according to the social, geographic, demographic, afe, gender, financial, ethical etc situation. Pricing is also a great factor to consider. Sourcing is also great factor to consider

.

delivery: online service delivery, shop delivery or home delivery can be an important factor in a business as it can play a great role in cost effectiveness. 

relation between customers and seller: One should always keep a good relationship with the customers as this is a major way to keep the customers to themselves and help them grow.

revenue stream: the ratio of revenue and expenses should be considered. the cost in online selling and offline selling. And the breakeven point was also discussed thoroughly.

main investment/ property: A website, shop rent, web app, mobile app, workers etc are fixed cost and fixed business properties.

Main partners: mainly product or service suppliers and providers are the main partners or can be considered as partners.

Cost/ expenditures: rents, service cost to run the business, emergency services cost etc. 

Ms. Achia Nila ended her session by thanking everyone and she also shared her presentation slide with the participants.
