Programming skills are useful not only for being a programmer, but also for solving any problem. Moreover, the volume of technology-based professions and work is increasing globally. For these two reasons students need to study computer programming from the beginning of their school life- Munir Hassan, general secretary of BDOSN said at the launching of ‘International Hour of Code Bangladesh Segment’ to attract students to programming under Computer Science and Education Week.
This year, the activities of BDOSN have begun this year at the Maqsudul Alam Science Laboratory. An hour-long programming activity will be followed at MasLab every day of the week from December 9 to December 15. Anyone can attend the event from 10 am to 5 pm. Participants will receive a digital certificate signed by Hadi Parvati, founder of Code.Org.
In a video message about this, Munir Hassan urged everyone to participate in the event on their own initiative. He also said that the National High School Programming Contest, the largest program for high school students of Bangladesh, National Girls Programming Contest for girls were launched this week of the. The participation of girls in the technology sector will be celebrated in the first week of January, titled Ada Lovelace Cerebration this year too.
Mosharraf Hossain and Humaun Kabir, academic mentor of BdOSN, are assisting Maslab's students in their scheduled program of Hour of Code.
According to BDOSN sources, this week, December 10th , WordPress based website creation program was organized for school children, a variety of mathematics skills learning session on 13th and a design workshop was organized on the 15th December.
It is noted that in the event of 'Computer Science Education Week', the World Hours Code is being organized by Bangladesh Open Source Network and Internet Society Bangladesh Chapter.
