Workshop on How to Grow Your Business

Growing a small business is the toughest challenge for any new member of the entrepreneurial world. It takes considerable effort, sufficient practical knowledge and organized strategy of making profits by using various methods. Rapid growth of any business does not happen overnight, it follows several steps to move forward. Most of the people of our Bangladesh invest much to any startup without doing any study or research about these steps. As the consequences, most of them drop out within very short time. Considering this issues, Bangladesh Open Source Network conduct a camp on How to Grow Your Business.

 

Around 30 female participants took part in this workshop on 15 June 2020 at 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm. This workshop was conducted by Senior lecturer of Faculty of Business of Northern University Bangladesh and Chief Coordinator of BdOSN, Mahbuba Sultana. She ran this interactive discussion with the participants about the steps of taking their business in the next level.

Mahbuba Sultana discussed about the business environment, their elements and the all way of scaling any business with its associated issues. She also stated the importance of the restructuring and reengineering of any business to take it into the next level. She said, an entrepreneur should always keep update in this world like market demand, new trend, methods of reaching the clients, new technologies and many more. She also focused on the professional development, corporate social responsibility and the maximum utilization of all media to get highest profit with gaining the confidence of the target audience. She also suggested to be loyal and honest in term of running any kind of business.

A complete growth strategy of a business was briefly described by Mahbuba Sultana. From market analysis to execution, she discussed all the steps point to point to make it easier to understand. Participants asked her many questions. One of the participants from Rome expressed her gratitude to have all the solutions of her confusions about growing any business as she works on tourism sector. Another participant Tarmihim Tania who run her business on baby dresses asked our guest that how she can recover her losses caused by pandemic situations. Mahbuba Sultana replied that you need to do market analysis on how you can reach your client easily and what your client demand in this situation.

It is mentioned that, this workshop is conducted under three year ESDG4BD project of Bangladesh Open Source Network to increase women participation in workplace.
