Robotics and Mathematics sessions were conducted at Perikhali Model Secondary School, Rampal, Bagerhat

On 21st August 2023, Robotics and Mathematics sessions were conducted at Perikhali Model Secondary School, Rampal, Bagerhat, under the STEM & ICT Skills for the Girls of Coastal Area (SISGCA) project funded by Malala Fund in association with BdOSN. 40 female students from classes 6 to 8 participated actively in these sessions.

The main objective of these sessions was to enable the students to keep pace with science and information technology. Students can increase the spread of scientific knowledge. The trend of education among students is decreasing due to various reasons. Girls lag far behind boys in science and information technology education in coastal areas. Due to various social reasons, village girls are being hindered from getting higher education. Skill will be gained by appearing in various practical tests of science subjects. Students can participate in various science competitions. Students will bring honor to the country by participating in various competitions in the country and abroad.

The Mathematics session started with a welcome speech by the Headmaster of Perikhali Model Secondary School, Rampal, Bagerhat. The session was conducted by Md. Shithil Islam, a Member of the Bangladesh Maths Olympiad Committee. He presented to the students the techniques for learning mathematical problems in a fun way. His interactive teaching method attracts students to mathematics. He teaches basic calculus, and basic combinatorics in a practical and interesting way. He tries to explain to the students individually what is their problem. The students take up the session with curiosity and interest.

The Robotics session was conducted by Fazle Elahi Tonmoy and Mursalin Pervez. He first interacted with the students with various modern-day examples of robotics and basic robotics conversation. After that, he links the corresponding session to the textbook. He attempts to give an accurate idea of the extent to which modern civilized robots and robotic technologies have spread and how far their influence will extend in the future. He teaches hands-on how to connect electronic circuits and perform basic robotics operations and discusses various components of general robotics. Encourages students about robotics by driving a wireless car with a remote controller. Students enjoy the session with interest and curiosity.

This session will help them to develop a basic concept of Math and Robotics. Finally, the session was concluded with the permission of the headmaster of the school.
