Robotics and Mathematics sessions were conducted at Comrade Ratan Sen Collegiate Girls' School, Rupsa, Khulna

On 23rd August 2023, Robotics and Mathematics sessions were conducted at Comrade Ratan Sen Collegiate Girls' School, Rupsa, under the STEM & ICT Skills for the Girls of Coastal Area (SISGCA) project funded by Malala Fund in association with BdOSN. 42 female students from classes 6 to 8 participated actively in these sessions.

The main objective of these sessions was to enable the students to keep pace with science and information technology. Students can increase the spread of scientific knowledge. The trend of education among students is decreasing due to various reasons. Girls lag far behind boys in science and information technology education in coastal areas. Due to various social reasons, village girls are being hindered from getting higher education. Skill will be gained by appearing in various practical tests of science subjects. Students can participate in various science competitions. Students will bring honor to the country by participating in various competitions in the country and abroad.

The session started with welcome speech by Lakshan Kumar Saha, Headmaster of Comrade Ratan Sen Collegiate Girls' School, Rupsa.

Robotics session conducted by Fazle Elahi Tommoy, FronTech Robotics, and IoT Training Coordinator, SISGCA Project, and Md Emon Mia Volunteer World Robot Olympiad. Students are first given a theory class on robotics basics. Then they are given an idea about the components of electronic devices. Students are shown making electronic circuits on the breadboard. The mentor allows the students to work in groups. Students build electronic circuits on their own breadboards and are able to turn on lights. At the end of the session, there was a robo-race competition. The mentor taught the rules of the competition. The students participated in the competition with joy. The session was declared closed with the permission of the school headmaster.

The Math session was conducted by Md Tamzid Ahmed, an Academic Team Member (Bangladesh Math Olympiad). He first talks to all the students about their favorite math subject. He discussed the basic concepts of mathematics. Discuss the basic concepts of mathematics. Students talk about why they are afraid of mathematics and how to overcome the fear and solve problems. He highlighted the importance of how students will do well in mathematics in various competitions. Mentors teach students about fraction concepts, algebraic formula interpretations, and simple math skills with the help of digital pens on the school's smart board. Student's LCM and HCP methods are explained by breaking them down into smaller parts. In the middle of the session, all the students were allowed to do some math problems from the textbook. The students were able to solve them successfully. Students are taught short techniques using mathematical formulas. The mentor prohibits students from memorizing mathematics and advises them to understand the formulas properly.

Finally, the session was concluded with the permission of the headmaster of the school. Students get a better understanding of Arithmetic series, Least Common Multiple, and Greatest Common Divisor from this mathematics session, and from the robotics session they know electronic circuits perform basic robotics operations and various components of general robotics
