In this era of the fourth industrial revolution, there is going to be a rapid change in technology and industries. One of the key components would be robotics for automation. To grow interest in this potential topic among the female students, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) has organized an ICT camp “Arduino and Robotics Workshop for Female Students”. The workshop took place on February 1, 2022, in NAF Tech, Mohakhali DOHS, Dhaka.
The session was conducted by Mr. Maherul Azam Koreshi. Mr. Maherul is currently a System Design & Development Engineer, IoT at NAF Tech. He has also been playing the role of the treasurer of Bangladesh FlyingLabs.
The workshop started with the basic theories of Arduino. Mr. Maherul guided the participants about how to start learning robotics through Arduino and also provided the must-know points of electronics. By the time they were introduced to IDE and installed it to start using Arduino. Every participant was facilitated with a kit box containing Uno Board, Breadboard, Jump Wires, LEDs, Resistors, Push Switch, Buzzer, Sensors, Servo Motor, etc. After implementing LED Blink project, a young participant expressed her happiness and said “Arduino is fun and interesting! I want to do more projects!”.
At the end of the workshop, the participants shared their opinion and wished to participate in the workshop on this topic again. Also, they suggested arranging a short competition among all of the participants.
This day-long workshop was organized under the ESDG4Bd-2030 project of Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN).
