To make the students proficient in the programming field and to make them more interested in the field of Information Technology, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) organized a Grace Hopper Girls Programming Camp. It was a two-day-long camp and the event took place on the premises of City University, Panthopath on 28th and 30th of the month of March 2022. A total number of 35 students participated in this event.
The Programming Camp was graced by Chowdhury Mahir Muhibbullah, Mentor at Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), and Mosaraf Hossain Tipu, Program Officer of ESDG4Bd, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). The aim of the camp was to teach, pitch up and train the participants from basic to advanced levels of programming (such as Variable, Condition, Loop, Function, Algorithm, Searching & Sorting etc.). To make the camp more engaging the Mentors showed real-life examples & use case scenarios. The sessions were designed in such a way that kept the participants engaged and attentive throughout the whole session. On the second day of the camp, a mini mock programming contest was organized to help the students test their skills in the field of programming and to encourage the participants, the mentors also distributed prizes to the top performing participants by observing the participants and also honored them with gift hampers.
The events were organized under the ESDG4Bd - 2030 project of Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN).
