Arduino is getting more popular among students day by day. The main reason behind it is open source and the community of Arduino. Information about Arduino is very easy to get from online. Students are making a lot of new things with it to make life easier.
Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), Society for the Popularization of Science, Bangladesh (SPSB) and MASLab organized Basic Arduino Workshop to make it more popular with students at Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology. A total number of 33 students from different schools, colleges and universities of Comilla participated in the workshop.
The workshop started at 10 AM and continued until 5 PM. Col. A.H.M. Kamal, Register of BAIUST, Jahidul Arafat, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, BAIUST and Meskat Jahan, Lecturer, Department of CSE, BAIUST was present at the workshop. Besides researching on robotics students used the Arduino development kit to solve small electronic problems. The students were taught hands-on how to use the Arduino to solve problems.
There were taught Arduino pin configuration, microcontroller, Basic Electronics, controlling LED lights, use of digital pin, Pulse width modulation (PWI), temperature sensor, sonar sensor, servo motor, push button and potentiometer. 10 popular Arduino project was introduced to students. They were also introduced to the Internet of Things (IoT).
The Workshop ended with an exam. Though that exam, participants for IoT fiesta will be selected, Mosaraf Hossain Tipu, Program Coordinator of BdOSN announced about IoT fiesta.
