Workshop on "Gender Transformative Approach in Project Cycle Management"-Hosted By MALALA Fund

MALALA Fund recently hosted a three-day workshop on "Gender Transformative Approach in Project Cycle Management" at Chuti Resort in Gazipur, Bangladesh. This empowering event was held from the 13th through the 15th of September 2023, with a focus on accelerating the project cycle management. The workshop brought together seven Bangladeshi organizations committed to ensuring that girls have access to free, safe, and high-quality education.

The Participating Organizations

The workshop was graced by the presence of representatives from seven esteemed Bangladeshi organizations, all passionate about advancing gender equality through education. These organizations include:

  • Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE)
  • Friendship Center, Bangladesh
  • JAAGO Foundation
  • People’s Oriented Program Implementation (POPI)
  • Disabled Rehabilitation & Research Association (DRRA)
  • Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB)
  • Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF)

Kaniz Fatema Kanta (Chief Executive Officer, BdOSN), Shakhira Afroz (Project Lead, SISGCA), and Mahbub Ul Islam Khan (Project Coordinator, SISGCA), represented the Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) at this significant gathering.

 

The Workshop's topics Covered

Throughout the three days of the workshop, participants engaged in thoughtful discussions and activities aimed at enhancing their understanding and application of gender transformative approaches in project management. The workshop's agenda included a comprehensive range of topics, such as:

  • Project Identification and Formulation: How to identify and create projects that address the specific needs and challenges faced by girls and young women in the coastal areas of Bangladesh.
  • Project Planning: Strategies for developing project plans that integrate a gender-transformative lens, ensuring inclusivity and equality.
  • Project Implementation: Best practices for effectively executing projects, with a focus on engaging and empowering girls in General Education, STEM, and ICT.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Methods to assess project progress, measure impact, and adapt strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Sustainability: Strategies for ensuring the long-term sustainability of projects that promote girls' education and empowerment.

Musharraf Tansen, In-Country Representative at Malala Fund, served as the workshop's inspiring leader.
