At the invitation of the Bogura Zilla School Science Club, the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad (BdRO) and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) jointly organized a special robotics activation event, bringing the excitement of robotics to over 250 enthusiastic school students from various institutions across Bogura.
The session began with an engaging introduction to the basics of robotics, helping students understand how robots work and why they matter, especially in space! The event's main highlight was the introduction to IRO Bangladesh Open 2025, a national robotics competition based on this year’s thrilling theme: Space Robot.
Students received detailed guidance on preparing for the competition, with a special focus on the Creative Category, Creative Movie, Physical Computing, and the Robotics Quiz. Former participants of the International Robot Olympiad and experienced mentors from BdRO shared valuable tips, stories, and insights to inspire young minds.
One of the most exciting moments was the interactive demonstration of a Mini Rover Robot, specially built for a Mars-like mission called Robo Mars. Students watched with fascination as the robot explored a simulated Martian surface, bringing the space theme to life.
The session also featured a lively Q&A where students asked lots of thoughtful questions about robotics, AI, and space technology, and got inspiring answers that sparked even more curiosity.
BdRO and BdOSN look forward to organizing more of these fun and educational activations and hands-on workshops in schools across the country, helping young innovators take their first step into the world of robotics.
