From June 23 to 27, a special hands-on workshop titled "An Introduction to Arduino with Sensors" was successfully held over five consecutive days, each day offering 2 hours of exciting learning and exploration in the world of robotics. This engaging workshop, organized under the joint initiative of Bangladesh Robot Olympiad (BdRO) and Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), opened up new horizons for enthusiastic young minds.
The workshop introduced participants to the basics of Arduino programming, sensors, motors, buzzers, and other essential components through 16 practical projects. With each circuit they built, the students gained more confidence and understanding of how hardware and software work together in robotics.
Beyond the technical training, the workshop also served as a gateway to the IRO Bangladesh Open 2025, a national robotics competition based on the thrilling theme: Space Robot. Mentors from BdRO provided clear explanations of different participation categories, such as Creative Category, Creative Movie, Physical Computing, and Robotics Quiz.
These insights not only informed the students but also inspired them to start preparing for the Olympiad.
One of the most inspiring moments came from Juhana Mahbub, a participant who shared,
“I had zero knowledge about robotics before attending this workshop. But now, I feel more confident, and my passion for robotics has grown so much. I’m planning to form a team and participate in the Olympiad. I also look forward to attending more workshops like this in the future.”
Her story reflects the true impact of such initiatives, helping curious minds discover their potential and take their first bold steps into the world of innovation.
BdRO and BdOSN are committed to continuing these learning opportunities across the country, nurturing young talents and shaping the next generation of tech pioneers.
