STEM Fest 2024 Concluded at Tala, Satkhira

STEM FEST was held at Shahid Ali Ahmad Government Girls High School of Tala Upazila of Satkhira under the project titled STEM & ICT Skills for the Girls of Coastal Area.

Science and Information Technology based STEM Fest was organized for the first time last Wednesday (June 12, 2024) in Tala Upazila of Satkhira with the participation of about two hundred students.

The Shaheed Ali Ahmed Government Girls High School campus in Tala was buzzing with lively participation of young programmers, robotics engineers and science researchers. Day-long programming contest, science-based project exhibition, poster presentation of innovative ideas, robotics competition, majority of the participants were female students. The day-long event started in the morning with flag hoisting and national anthem.

Students of total five schools of Tala Upazila participated in this organized fest. Shahid Ali Ahmad Government Girls High School, Shahid Kamel Model High School, JNA Pallimangal Secondary School, Samakal Secondary School, Tala Brajen Dey, Government High School of Tala Upazila participated in total. 22 science-based projects, 27 poster presentations along with programming contests, quiz competitions, robotics competitions showcased their skills in various activities.

 Upazila executive officer Afia Sharmin was present as the chief guest in the closing ceremony. Also present were teachers of participating schools, Upazila Chairman, Upazila Women Affairs Officer, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Sekh Firoz Ahmed, President of Mathematics Olympiad and General Secretary of Bangladesh Open Source Network Mr. Munir Hasan, Associate Professor of Institute of Information Technology (IIT) Department of Dhaka University Dr. BM Mainul Hossain, Professor and former Chairman of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department of Dhaka University Dr. Lafifa Jamal, Professor of Genetics Engineering Department of Dhaka University Mushtaq Ibn Ayub, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jessore University of Science and Technology Dr Syed Md Ghalib etc.
