A two day special workshop titled “Problem Analysis and Robot Design from the Main Theme” was held on 3 and 4 April at the Bangladesh Open Source Network office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, as part of the preparation for the IRO Bangladesh Open 2026.
The workshop was designed around this year’s main theme, Cultural Heritage Service Robots, with a strong emphasis on transforming real world challenges into structured robotic solutions. Participants were introduced to systematic methods of problem identification, analysis, and solution driven robot design aligned with cultural heritage contexts.
Throughout the workshop, students engaged in focused group based exploratory activities. They examined practical scenarios, identified relevant problems, and translated their findings into initial robot design concepts. This hands on approach strengthened their ability to connect research with design thinking in a collaborative environment.
An interactive discussion session was also conducted to address participants’ queries regarding the upcoming Robot Olympiad, providing clarity on expectations, evaluation criteria, and preparation strategies.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, marking the successful completion of the program. Such initiatives continue to advance students’ capabilities in analytical thinking, structured research, and innovative robotics design grounded in real world applications. Bangladesh Open Source Network and Bangladesh Robot Olympiad will continue to organize such workshops to nurture and empower young creative minds.
