Main Theme Research Workshop Successfully Completed

A three day Main Theme Research Workshop concluded on 7th March at the Bangladesh Open Source Network office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The workshop brought together students who are preparing for the upcoming IRO Bangladesh Open 2026 and aimed to guide them in conducting structured research on the main  theme of the International Robot Olympiad.

Throughout the three day program, participants learned how to research and explore the main theme through a structured seventeen step process. Students were also introduced to three special research methods designed to help them analyze real world contexts and identify meaningful technological solutions.

During the sessions, participants took part in several practical exercises where they examined different situations and discussed possible problems that could be solved using robotics. These analytical activities encouraged students to think critically about how robots can be designed to address real challenges in society.

The International Robot Olympiad Committee has announced the main theme of the 28th International Robot Olympiad and IRO Bangladesh Open 2026 as Cultural Heritage Service Robots. This theme focuses on developing robots that help people experience, understand, and protect cultural heritage.

Based on this theme, students from class one to class twelve will participate in the IRO Bangladesh Open 2026 competition and develop creative robotic solutions related to cultural heritage.

The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, marking the successful completion of the program. Bangladesh Open Source Network & Bangladesh Robot Olympiad will continue to arrange such workshops for the young creative minds.
