Job Exposure Visit at bdjobs.com

The unequal ratio of Male and Female employees in the IT sector of Bangladesh is completely visible nowadays. There are a lot of factors orchestrating the issue where the government and its partner organization are working. Therefore, to solve this problem by making the university female students skilled, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) has organized a Job Exposure Visit at bdjobs.com. This visit took place on 15th March 2022 at the headquarters of the organization. A total number of 28 enthusiastic female students participated in this experience-based learning event.

Before roaming around the premises, the participants attended a small discussion session with Mr. Prokash Roy Chowdhury, Manager of Sales & Marketing, and Mr. Kazi Latifur Rahman, Director of Technology and Product from bdjobs.com. Both of the resource persons answered every question of the attendees.

The session started with the opening remarks by Mr. Roy where he explained bdjobs.com activities in brief. Later he mentioned the core skills that an HR always looks upon. He also provided guidelines about applying for jobs through an online job portal. An exciting part of his remarks was the dos and don’ts of the online job application. “The most important matter for a CSE student would be to be better on his/her own domain”-he emphasized. Mr. Rahman briefed on the technical field of the organization and the scopes for the newcomer. He ensured their interest to recruit female candidates and maintaining their safety in their arena. He said-“We always maintain a woman-friendly environment that ensures high productivity”. Later, the participants roamed around the headquarters on different floors to practically experience the environment.

“This visit was mostly needed for us and the learning and experience we have gathered will have a great impact on us”-mentioned one of the participants. This event was organized under the ESDG4Bd-2030 project of Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN).
