Hands on Job Preparation Workshop: Email Etiquette for Professional Interactions

Communication skill is the most demanded skill in the twenty-first century. Email plays a vital role in the formal mode of communication nowadays. To make the university students familiar with the formal email interactions, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) has organized Hands on Job Preparation Workshop on Email Etiquette for Professional Interactions. This online workshop was conducted on Zoom, held on February 18, 2022.

This workshop was conducted by Kawser Shakil, PR Specialist & Consultant, Columbia University in New York.

Mr. Kawser started the session by discussing the purpose of email writing, followed by the sections of an email. While explaining the addressing part, he said that it is very important to address the right person in the right way. It was also emphasized in the workshop how to reply and email with the appropriate tone. The do’s and don’ts of an email were presented in his presentation as well. In the second part, he assigned the participants to write an email based on one of the given scenarios to ensure their learning.

The session concluded with the experience sharing of the participants. “Not every workshop we attend is enjoyable, but we enjoyed this session a lot!”. Almost every participant interacted and asked their queries to the resource person in this session.

“Hands on Job Preparation Workshop: Email Etiquette for Professional Interactions” was organized under the ESDG4Bd project of BdOSN.
