Raising awareness on safety issues among the youth is now the only way to prevent online harassment to girls and women. To reduce the online risk and vulnerability on cyber harassment, Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) run a campaign named Take Back The Tech. Under this initiative, BdOSN organize a day long activity at Cox's Bazar in the eve of International Women Day on 8th March, 2020.
Around 30 female students from different universities and colleges participated in this seminer. This event aimed at increasing women awareness about online and social media safety issues and to provide a general concept about how to deal with any kind of cyber bullying and harassment. Mahbuba Sultana, Chief Coordinator and head of the Take Back The Tech conducted this seminar. The content is mostly focused on youth and the diverse minorities such as women and adolescent teenage girls. She talked about safe practices to some of the most common vulnerabilities, such as harassment, cyber bullying and many more.
