Two-day Grace Hopper Girls’ Programming Camp held at Comilla University, Comilla at 16 & 17 October and Pundra Science and Engineering Technology, Bogra at 21 & 22 October, 2019. These camps were organized by Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN).
This camp is organized mainly to improve the skills of programming for undergraduate female students. Now-a-days women students are not entering the workplace due to lack of proper skills while studying at university level with science and information technology. And BDOSN is working towards that goal.
At Comilla University, 31 female students from Computer Science and Engineering Technology has participated in this camp. The first day of this two-day camp is decorated with the primary and basic learning session of programming. The second day, students participated in a programming contest in an online programming platform. The winner of this camp has been awarded with certificate and crest in the closing session of Grace Hopper Programming Camp.

Same scenario has been observed in the Pundra Science and Engineering Technology, Bogra. Almost 33 female students of Computer Science and Engineering Technology participated in this girls’ programming camp to enhance their expertise on solving problems with codding. This camp provides a complete guide on how to solve complex problems with coding.

It is noted that that BDSOSN will organize various skill development training in addition to Grace Hopper Programming Camp so that female students who are studying information technology in different sections of Bangladesh do not fall short of skills.
