Science session were conducted in Comorade Ratan Sen collegiate school and Naihati Govt Girls High school at Rupsha, Khulna. The session, conducted by Farzana Akter Lima and Riaz Sheikh, provided students with valuable insights into key concepts in science, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experiments to enhance their understanding and enthusiasm for science.
In the Chemistry segment, students were introduced to various fundamental topics, with a specific focus on chemical reactions. The resource persons demonstrated an engaging experiment where alkalis and acids reacted to produce carbon dioxide, offering students a hands-on opportunity to observe the process in action. This practical demonstration helped students understand the mechanisms and outcomes of chemical reactions in a tangible way. Following the experiment, an in-depth discussion was held to explain the experimental setup, the observed reaction, and the reasoning behind the results, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the topic.
The Physics segment focused on the concept of density, an essential principle in understanding how objects interact with liquids. Through an engaging experiment, students observed how saltwater can make objects float, which helped them visualize the relationship between density and buoyancy. This practical experience allowed them to grasp how density determines whether objects sink or float in a liquid. Detailed discussions followed the experiment, during which students analyzed their observations and learned how the results aligned with the theoretical principles of physics.
The session emphasized not only learning scientific concepts but also fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Students were motivated to apply their knowledge thoughtfully and contribute to keeping nature safe by adopting sustainable practices.
This interactive and educational session successfully bridged the gap between theory and practice, inspiring students to explore the wonders of science with curiosity and responsibility. It provided a platform for them to actively engage with scientific principles and left a lasting impact on their understanding of science.
