Arduino is a mini computer that has a microprocessor, RAM and ROM are embedded in a small chip. An Arduino can be used to solve many practical problems with the combination of different sensors. Arduino is also popular to students for making science projects.
Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN), Science Popularization Society, Bangladesh and MASLab organized 3 Basic Arduino Workshop in a row in Chittagong. The workshop was sponsored by Bangladesh Services Limited. The workshops held in 3 different Universities of Chittagong. 11th August at Premier University, 12th August at the University of Chittagong and 13th August at International Islamic University, Chittagong. In total 120 participants participated in 3 workshops. There were taught Arduino pin configuration, microcontroller, Basic Electronics, controlling LED lights, use of the digital pin, Pulse width modulation (PWI), temperature sensor, sonar sensor, servo motor, push button and potentiometer. 10 popular Arduino project was introduced to students. They were also introduced to Internet of Things (IoT).Head of CSE Department of Premier University Dr. Towfiq Saeed, Teacher Tutton Mallick, Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Professor of the Institute of Forests of Chittagong University, Associate Professor of Internation Islamic University, Chittagong Mahdi Hasan. 12 students will be selected from 3 different works for Advanced Arduino Workshop.
Head of the workshop facilitator Redwan Fesdous said that "This is being organized all over the country to introduce the students of the Internet of Things. Earlier this was organized in Dhaka and Comilla. In the workshop, students used the famous electronics kit Arduino to solve various small problems along with robotic research. Arduino development kit is very popular in the field of Robotics or program based project. The workshop shows you how this open source hardware works"
