Workshop on Ubuntu held at IIUC, Dhaka Campus
International Islamic University Chittagong, Dhaka Campus (IIUCDC) Computer Club organized a workshop on Ubuntu on 29th January 2010. The workshop took place at the IIUC campus at Dhanmondi. About 30 students, including many non-CSE students participated at the session. Participants learned the Installation Ubuntu 9.10 as well as some advanced tips and tricks. Associate Professor & Head of the Department of CSE, Mohammed Shamsul Alam inaugurated the session. He welcomed the participants and the trainers by describing them as role models. He also mentioned about strengthening the open source community of the university.

PSTU OSN formed
The Open Source Network in Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) has been formed recently. A meeting was held in the department of computer science of PSTU on 8th January. Dr Humayun Kabir, Vice President of BdOSN was present in the meeting. The various aspect of Open Source technology has been discussed in the meeting. After the discussion a convening commiitee of PSTU_OSN has been formed with Prof Dr Professor Md. Ali Azgor Bhuiyam Dean, CSE Faculty, PSTU as Advisor. Mr Md. Kamrul Hasan, Lecturer, Computer and Communication Engineering Department, PSTU elected as the convener while Mr Foysol elected as the student coordinator of the network. It was decided that the PSTU OSN will organized programme shortly in the campus.
