BdOSN has observed Software Freedom Day through various events

The Software Freedom Day, an annual worldwide celebration aimed at increasing awareness of Free Open Source Software and its benefits, was observed on Saturday by Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). With the call on the public to patronize the open source software, BdOSN organized an open discussion session and cake cutting events in their office. General Secretary of BdOSN Munir Hasan and Basis freelancer award winner Sayed Islam discussed on various topics on open source software.

 

The ceremony was attended by Jabed Morshed of BdOSN, Treasurer & Public Relation Coordinator Nurunnaby Chowdhury Hasive, Academic counselor of Bangladesh Math Olympiad Committee Tamim Shahriar Subin, Bangladesh Math Olympiad committee’s coordinator Bayojid Bhuiya Juwel, Executive member of Wikimedia Bangladesh Nasir Khan Shaikat, Program Coordinator of BdOSN Promi Naheed, Basis freelancer award winner Enayet Hussein Rajib, Shaoun Bhuiya and other BdOSN members. People from various profession were also present at the ceremony which was open for all. Along with Dhaka, 12 other local branches of BdOSN around the country also celebrated the day through various events.

 

Begum Rokeya University OSN, Haji Danesh University of Science and Technology OSN, Jogonnath University OSN, Gono Bishwabidyalay OSN, Bogra OSN, Comilla University OSN, Mymensingh OSN, Noakhali Science & Technology University OSN, Rajshahi University OSN, Rajshahi OSN, KUET OSN have celebrated the day through rally, open discussion, filmography, quiz contest, giving away of Bangla Wikipedia manual along with other events.
