The Gono B Bishwabidyalay Open source network (GBOSN) has started its journey at Gono Bishwabidyalay , located at Savar, Dhaka. A seminar on “Open Source and IT Career” was organized by the Computer Science and Engineering department of the university last Thursday. The main speech was given by Munir Hasan, General Secretary of Bangladesh open source network (BdOSN)
in the seminar. The seminar was attended by the Vice Chancellor of the university Dr. Mohammed Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, Registrar Mr. Delowar Hussain, Head of CSE department Mr. Abdus Sattar, the Principal of Gonoshasthaya Samajvittik Medical College Layla Parvin Banu, Omar shehab, Tahmina Afroz from BdOSN, Program coordinator Promi Nahid and teachers and students of other departments of the university.
The speakers of the seminar said that, the students have huge opportunities to do something great in the future. With the help of information technology, only the youth can do something magnificent. After the seminar, the open source network of the university officially began its journey. A committee was formed with Imtiaz Ahmed as the President and Asive Choudhury as the generally secretary.
